Evli has published its Responsible Investment Annual Review for 2025. The report brings together the key measures, results, and areas of development that have characterized the integration of responsibility into Evli’s investment activities and active ownership over the past year.

Transparency and openness are the cornerstones of Evli’s responsible investment. For us, responsible investment means taking the environmental, social, and good governance (ESG) issues into account in our investment activities. We want to grow our clients’ wealth responsibly, which is why responsibility is integrated into our asset management investment activities.

Highlights of 2025

  • The focus areas for responsible investing were updated.
The focus areas were set as following:  market changes, active ownership, developing climate and nature work, addressing human rights, Evli’s responsible products, and continuous ESG-integration. The focus areas for responsible investing guide the development and practical work of Evli's responsible investment and ensure that responsibility is an integral part of investment activities.
  • New Climate and Nature Principles were published.
The combined principles set a common framework for Evli's climate and nature work and strengthen the systematic consideration of these themes in investment activities. As the themes are strongly interconnected, we want to advance the work with both themes supporting each other.
  • An interim review of climate targets was carried out.
Evli evaluated its climate targets compared to the targets of the Paris Agreement. The target level remained unchanged, and the targets will continue to apply to emissions from both Evli's own operations and its investments. Evli’s target is to halve greenhouse gas emissions from investments by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050 at the latest. At the end of 2025, the carbon footprint of Scope 1 ja 2 emissions had reduced 49.8 percent in Evli's equity and corporate bond funds.
  • Active ownership was strengthened.
During 2025, Evli participated in a total of 88 general meetings and extended voting in general meeting in international companies. In addition, Evli engaged with 34 individual companies and was involved in several collaborative engagement initiatives and investor statements, in which companies and decision-makers are engaged together with other investors.

”In 2025, we implemented responsible investment practices across a wide range of asset classes. ESG analysis and engagement were a key part of our operations in both traditional and alternative funds. Strengthening expertise is crucial in this work, which is why we organized ESG training days for portfolio managers for the fourth consecutive year, covering topics such as the development of responsible investing and future prospects. In addition, we carried out a collaboration project with Global Child Forum to promote children’s rights with the help of artificial intelligence. In turn, the ESG4Real certification received by Evli’s equity and corporate bond funds provides independent assurance of the quality of our responsible investment practices,” says Evli’s Sustainability Manager Elina Niiranen.
