Evli makes strategic hires for growth in Sweden

Evli, one of Finland's leading asset managers, has hired Louise Carlqvist Byrne and Richard Kiw. Louise is responsible for incentive programme design and Richard is responsible for asset management at Evli Sweden. The recruitments are strategically important for Evli's continued growth in Sweden.

Evli had a strong year in 2023 and reported a profit of EUR 40.2 million, 30 per cent higher than in 2022. At the end of the year, Evli managed over EUR 18.0 billion. The ambition is to continue to grow, especially in Sweden. Therefore, Evli Sweden has strengthened the Stockholm office with two significant recruitments in the form of Louise Carlqvist Byrne and Richard Kiw.

“We are very pleased to welcome Louise and Richard to our team in Stockholm. Their skills and experience are very important in driving our growth in the Swedish market. In Finland, Evli has a leading market position in asset management and incentive programmes. In Sweden, we now want to clearly grow these operations that we have built over many years. We see interesting synergies between our business areas asset management, incentive programmes and corporate finance," says Mikael Thunved, CEO of Evli Sweden.

Richard Kiw, will be responsible for asset management in Sweden. Richard has over 20 years of experience in asset management and comes most recently from Carnegie.

"Evli has extensive expertise and a strong position in Finland. I look forward to being part in developing this further in Sweden," says Richard Kiw.

Louise Carlqvist Byrne has over 15 years of experience in compensation issues and design of incentive programmes. Louise's background includes roles as Executive Compensation Consultant at WTW in Stockholm and London and Head of Compensation and Benefits at Viaplay Group.

“I am thrilled to be joining Evli at such an exciting phase in the company's journey in Sweden. With a unique business model, we have an offering that sets us apart from the competition," says Louise Carlqvist Byrne.
