Appointments at Evli Fund Management Company

Mikael Lundström, who has been working for Evli since 1996, has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of Evli Fund Management Company as of March 1, 2019.

With the new position, Lundström's long and awarded* experience in the financial markets will be available, in addition to portfolio management, to the product and service development of Evli Fund Management Company. Lundström will continue as portfolio manager for the Evli Corporate Bond and Evli European High Yield funds and as part of Evli's successful fixed income team.

"With seamless co-operation between portfolio managers we can ensure the best possible investment decisions for our customers"

With Lundström's new assignment, his previous responsibilities as Head of Fixed Income will be transferred to Juhamatti Pukka. Pukka, who has been named one of the world's top young portfolio managers**, has worked at Evli since 2008 and has successfully managed the Evli Short Corporate Bond fund among others. Pukka will take over as Head of Fixed Income on March 1, 2019.
Evli's corporate bond expertise dates back to 1999, when the Evli Corporate Bond fund managed by Mikael Lundström was launched. During the same year, the European bond market also developed. Today, Evli's fixed income team consists of eight people, of whom the two most recent additions were hired in 2018 due to increased customer demand. The closely co-operating team manages eight corporate bond and fixed income funds with a total experience of over 100 years.

“One of Evli's strong values is continuous development and learning. In addition, we want to give our employees the opportunity to advance in their careers within the company. With the new appointment, Mikael Lundström will be responsible for the funds’ investment activities and will continue as portfolio manager for the two funds, while Juhamatti Pukka will be given more responsibility and opportunity to develop further. We believe that the change will ensure continuity in the portfolio management team. With seamless co-operation between portfolio managers we can ensure the best possible investment decisions for our customers also in the future,” Evli Bank's CEO Maunu Lehtimäki comments on the changes.
